Practical test in infantry training. Major Taylor said confidentially that Walker & I were the best.

Exam in military Law.

Exam in map reading.

Exam in anti-gas training.

Route march to Eastview. Appeared in orders – 2/Lt. R.C.O.C.

July 6th – Kingston

Irene & Bobby with Chapman family arrived in Kingston on 2.30 train.

July 8th – Kingston

Started ordnance training under Corp[oral] Milligan.

July 9th – Kingston

Went to Barryfield ranges for rifle & Bren Gun.

July 12th – Kingston

1st test in Ordnance. Made 831/2% ([Corporal] Milligan’s test).

July 13th – Kingston

Les Burton, Williamson & Buttrell were given send off party.

July 14th – Kingston

Les & party left Kingston under Williamson at 1.30am.

July 15th – Kingston

Pay parade. Don Ketcheson left to take post in Regina. Capt[ain] Norris [?] back from hospital started his ordnance lectures.

July 19th – Kingston

Visited No 3 Ordnance depot at Kingston. 2nd Ordnance exam 84%.
